Mixing Wetle Holte’s debut solo album

Wetle is most known as a drummer, but is also a multi instrumentalist and a great composer.

He has played with musicians such as John Scofield, Nils Petter Molvær, Eivind Aarseth, Bugge Wesseltoft, Anja Garbarek, Jazzland community, Anathema, Petter Carlsen and many, many more.

Here’s what the media had to say about Wetle’s first band, “Wibutee”:

– “The world needs Wibutee.” BBC

– “One of the most impressive of Oslo’s current creative wave, and certainly the boldest ‹new conception of jazz› to come out on Jazzland so far.” The WIRE

«Now the music reaches beyond dancing, beyond listening and becomes, in the richest sense of the word, an experience.» AllAboutJazz

Guest musicians on Holte’s album are; Kirsti Huke, Gunnar Halle and guitar virtuoso Eivind Aarseth.

Aarseth is one of Norway’s finest guitarists/ bandleaders. His debut album was described by The New York Times as “One of the best post-Miles electric jazz albums”.

This is one of the most touching albums I’ve heard in a long time, so go buy it when it’s out, sit down, relax, take a timeout and enjoy. A taste of the album can be heard in the “references” section.
